CHICAGO BBDO in Detroit is preparing to cut as many as 200 employees, or about 11 percent of its staff, according to sources.

The layoffs will impact BBDO’s operations as well as those of its Omnicom Group siblings PHD and Organic, sources said.

The cuts are being made as the office restructures in reaction to cost cutting by its core client, DaimlerChrysler. In addition, the agency is likely to move some creative chores on the account to its New York headquarters to give chief creative David Lubars more oversight on the business, per sources.
