Barilla Combines Science and Fashion in New Web Series With Bill Nye and Rachel Zoe

Encourages viewers to 'feed their passion'

YouTube star Hannah Hart, who made cooking fun and approachable in her video series, My Drunk Kitchen, is doing it again in a new web video series for Barilla pasta.

The video series, "While the Water Boils," features Bill Nye the Science Guy, celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe and artist Hebru Brantley, all chatting with Hart about their passions for science, fashion and art, respectively. The series is part of Barilla's campaign, "Passion for Pasta," which highlights pasta's ability to bring people together and inspire creativity.

In the five-minute videos, Hart and Nye discuss the probabilities of life on Mars, the science of weather and the internet. Zoe chats with Hart about her career as a stylist and how sociology and psychology influence fashion. Brantley discusses his artistic influences and his processes for creating graffiti and comic book art and teaches Hart how to spray-paint graffiti.

"Barilla's passion for making pasta and Hannah's passion for food and friends are perfect complements," said Melissa Tendick, vp of marketing for Barilla, Americas. "We were very deliberate in picking various inspirational public figures, whether it be Rachel Zoe in fashion or Bill Nye in science. These personalities are highly culturally relevant within the passion points that they live for, and we hope that audiences are inspired by them."

Each video ends with the stars eating pasta, with links to recipes for each dish. All videos appear on Barilla's website, and its YouTube and social media channels.

The second season of the series, launching in October, will feature Hart interviewing comedian Wanda Sykes, actor Theo Rossi and professional skateboarder Lizzie Armanto.
