Atlanta Opening: Huey/Paprocki

Two award-winning creative veterans with major agency credentials–Ron Huey and Joe Paprocki–will open Huey/Paprocki here Nov. 1.
Huey has been freelancing here, having moved to Atlanta from The Martin Agency in Richmond, Va. Paprocki was most recently a creative director at the Atlanta office of Ogilvy & Mather. They hope their pairing might lead to “the most creative shop to come out of Atlanta in years.”
“Atlanta is a great town to start an agency in,” said Huey. “There are a number of really great companies here and there are a lot of opportunities to do great work.”
The pair will work from Paprocki’s home until they can afford office space. Opening without clients, they will fund their efforts by freelancing for agencies and clients.
Huey began as an account executive at J. Walter Thompson here. He shifted to the creative side there and later moved to Fahlgren/Martin, Atlanta. He then went to Team One in El Segundo, Calif., before going to Martin in 1993. He has won One Show, Clio and Stephen E. Kelly awards.
Paprocki started at Car-gill Wilson Acree here, then went to Atlanta’s Earle Palmer Brown and, like Huey, Fahlgren/Martin. He moved to Fallon McElligott, Minneapolis, where he worked until 1996. Paprocki then returned to Atlanta to work at Ogilvy. His awards credits include The One Show, D&AD and a Cannes Gold Lion.
Their brand experience includes Lexus, Wrangler, Kodak and American Express.
“I wouldn’t have come back unless I could make a difference in the work,” said Paprocki. “We have to lead by example. We have to judge our work against the guy across the country, not just the guy across the street.”
