Art Directors Club to Honor Hewlett-Packard

NEW YORK The Art Directors Club will present its Vision Award to Hewlett-Packard at the ADC Awards on June 3.

The Vision Award honors advertisers that exhibit a consistent commitment to design and art direction. Gary Elliott, vice president of corporate marketing at Hewlett-Packard, will accept the award.

H-P, based in Palo Alto, Calif., is being cited for its product design, software and hardware it develops for art directors and designers, and its advertising, created by Goodby, Silverstein & Partners in San Francisco.

One recent execution in the ongoing “+HP” campaign, which features case studies of how H-P helps businesses, showed an IT executive walking through his office as objects and backgrounds shift around him. A voiceover states H-P products and services can help businesses as the world changes.

Previous Vision Award winners include Pixar Animation Studios and Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia.

The ADC Awards presentation will be held in New York. Winners were named previously. TBWA\Chiat\Day topped the list with 12 gold awards for work on behalf of clients like Apple and Sony.
