Arnold Shifts Jack Daniel’s to Boston

BOSTON Arnold confirmed today that it would move the Jack Daniel’s account to its headquarters here from its 35-person outpost in St. Louis, which is expected to close shortly thereafter.

Brown-Forman spent $25 million in measured media on Jack Daniel’s last year, according to Nielsen Monitor-Plus. The St. Louis office of the Havas-owned agency also works for several smaller pieces of business, such as Houlihan’s restaurants.

Brown-Forman did not immediately return calls.

Some St. Louis agency employees will make the move to Boston, including Steve Swanson, managing partner at the outpost, Swanson said.

It has not been determined how many staffers would make the move. “I believe a core group will go, how many, again, not a done deal,” Swanson said.

Arnold established a St. Louis presence in 2001 when it acquired Simmons Durham, which had handled the Brown-Forman work since 1985.

Along with its Boston headquarters, Arnold maintains full-service offices in New York and McLean, Va.
