Arnold Names Key Players

Ed Davis and Romain Dessal have been tapped for key roles at Arnold as the agency continues its quest to establish a global agency network.

“They both strengthen the team on an international front,” said Ron Lawner, Arnold chairman and chief creative officer.

Davis was recently elevated to executive vice president/chief financial officer of the agency’s 800-person flagship office in Boston, succeeding Charles Kiefer, who will continue to consult with Arnold on taxation, acquisitions and related issues.

As CFO, Davis will head Arnold’s 50-member domestic financial team, managing its financial structure and operations. Davis—who joins Arnold’s executive committee—will also work closely on matters of international finance with Joe Pessolano, CFO of Arnold’s worldwide agency network.

“I plan to work [more closely] with senior management to continue the success we’ve had over the last three years,” Davis said. “Arnold is an agency with exceptional creative and services and is well-positioned for future growth.”

Davis joined Arnold from i-shop Zentropy Partners six months ago and has been serving as vice president/finance. At Zentropy, he led development and strategy execution for clients such as Coca-Cola, L’Oreal, Lucent, Marriott, Mastercard and US Airways.

Dessal moved to Arnold’s Boston office in the newly established job of network director. He had been with Devarrieuxvillaret, Paris an Arnold affiliate. At the French shop, he oversaw all client relationships, including work with Alcatel, which is now handled globally by Arnold.

Dessal will oversee integration and client service for all members of Arnold’s global agency network and is helping the agency acquire shops in Asia and South America by the end of the year. Arnold is a unit of Havas Advertising, Paris.
