Antismoking TV ads targeting young people may be the reason behind fewer smokers, according to a study in July’s Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine. The study, funded by the National Cancer Institute, National Institute on Drug Abuse and Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, found that students tended to smoke less and have more awareness about the risks in markets where anti-tobacco ads were more ubiquitous.
