Cute and cuddly animals are a big draw for zoos and an easy sell for advertisers. But Doner creatives had their work cut out for them when given the task of luring folks to the Detroit Zoo to see a new amphibians exhibit.
Taking a page from the Budweiser frogs, creatives at the Southfield, Mich., agency decided to make the frogs more personable. In one 30-second spot, Sugar Hill Gang’s “Rapper’s Delight” plays while hip-hopping toads, frogs and salamanders seem to dance.
