Paula Schneider, a former executive for Warnaco, will take the reins of American Apparel on Jan. 5 from founder and former CEO Dov Charney, who has been fired after an internal investigation that began with his suspension in June.

Facing charges of misconduct linked to a nude photo scandal, Charney had been working as a consultant for American Apparel since having to step down from his leadership role earlier this year. An internal committee investigated the scandal and decided to terminate him.
