AKQA Taps R/GA Account Exec

NEW YORK AKQA said it hired former R/GA executive Gary Krivin as director of client services at its New York office.

Krivin will lead AKQA’s Coca-Cola account, which it won in October, and other clients of the San Francisco-based independent shop, including Microsoft Xbox, ESPN and Clinique.

At R/GA, Krivin led the agency’s work on Bank of America. It lost that account when Bank of America shifted its consolidated ad account from Interpublic Group to Omnicom Group.

“He knows how to handle large-scale engagements,” said AKQA CEO Tom Bedecarre. “We’ve gotten off to a fast start in the first year” of the New York office, which AKQA opened in October 2004.

Prior to joining R/GA, Krivin held executive roles at Kirshenbaum Bond + Partners and the Sloan Group.
