NEW YORK
Alloy Online, a Generation Y media direct marketing company based in New York, acquired Westford, Mass.-based Carnegie Communications, a resource for high school students and their parents that provides information about colleges and universities, as well as the college-application and admis sions process. Under the terms of the agreement, Alloy issued approximately 1.3 million shares of stock and paid $5 million in cash and future compensation to complete the acquisition. Founded in 1986 with its flagship publication, Private Colleges & Universities, Carnegie now publishes more than 30 annual publications that target high school students by region, academic interest and achievement level.
