Mason & Madison Public Relations, New Haven, has been named agency of record by the Boston Communications Group. Based in Woburn, Mass., the client provides services to nine of the top 10 wireless carriers in the United States. Mason & Madison’s work with Bell Atlantic Mobile, also in Woburn, helped the agency land the job.
Corrigan Communications in Newton has created a radio campaign on behalf of the Massachusetts Extended Care Federation. The ads, which were translated into Spanish, Portuguese, Haitian and Cantonese, encourage minorities to apply for jobs in nursing homes with the tagline, “Make more than a living. Make a difference.”
Novera Software in Burlington has named Donovan Group in Northborough its agency of record. Donovan will create a marketing communications program for the Internet applications development company that will include corporate and product positioning identification, multimedia and Internet communications, Web site development and collateral materials.
Cosmic Blender in Watertown has been tapped to create the first image campaign for the Mountain West Conference, which consists of eight NCAA universities formerly associated with the Western Athletic Conference. The effort will include TV spots that will air during football and basketball games on ABC, ESPN and ESPN2, along with radio ads and a marketing piece to solicit conference sponsors. Cosmic Blender was chosen for the assignment after a review that included 12 agencies and production companies from across the country.
Looksmart, a category-based Web directory, has awarded Carat Freeman in Newton its media strategy and placement account. The agency’s San Francisco division will launch Looksmart’s multimillion-dollar consumer advertising campaign designed to drive consumers to its Web site.
J.M. Perrone Co. has moved from Weymouth to South Shore Park in Hingham.
Hill & Partners in Quincy, which specializes in trade show services, has received a Vendor of the Year award from Cognex Corp. of Natick for the second consecutive year. The award celebrates customer service, competitive pricing and high-quality products. The agency also received an Exhibitor Excellence Award at the Supercomm ’99 show in Atlanta for an exhibit on behalf of General Datacomm in Middlebury, Conn. Presented by the International Communications Association, the award recognizes booth design, product presentation and staff professionalism.
Graham Communications in Quincy has won three Awards for Publication Excellence, sponsored by Communications Concepts of Springfield, Va. Graham won for a logo design and corporate identification program for the Georgetown Savings Bank, a media relations and publicity campaign for Anton’s Cleaners’ Coats for Kids program and for its own quarterly publication.
