Say this for last year’s job market in advertising, media and marketing: It had range, hitting all the high notes in the first half of the year and all the low ones in the second half. The volume of help-wanted classifieds running in Adweek last month shows that December did its bit to sustain this theme. Both the boom and bust stem largely from hiring (or the lack thereof) for dot-com positions.
