Account Plotting?

What do account planners have in common with serial killers? Plenty, according to organizers of the second annual Account Planning Conference.
An eclectic assortment of speakers awaits attendees of this year’s three-day meeting in July at the Westin Hotel in Boston.
Breakout sessions include “Getting Inside the Mind of a Serial Killer: What Planning Can Learn From Criminal Profiling,” presented by former FBI agent John Douglas. (No wonder account planners are sometimes hyped as shop’s secret agents.)
For the squeamish, a kinder, gentler presentation is being offered by psychotherapist and hypnotist Joyce Dolberg Rowe. The title of her presentation: “What Planning Can Learn From Relationship Counseling.”
The conference, co-sponsored by the Account Planning Group and the American Association of Advertising Agencies, both in New York, concludes with the third annual APG Awards, which recognize effective account planning strategies.
