$35 Mil. Champion Mortgage Starts Review

CHICAGO Champion Mortgage will issue proposal requests for its ad account to agencies in the next couple of weeks, according to Jones Lundin Beals, the consultancy overseeing the review. Billings are $35 million, sources said.

Jones Lundin in Chicago is overseeing the review for the Parsippany, N.J., client, which is a unit of Keybank in Cleveland. David Beals, president and CEO of the consultancy, confirmed the review but declined to disclose additional details.

Champion spent about $20 million on ads last year, according to TNS Media Intelligence/CMR. The assignment in play also includes a large direct component as well as public relations.

Champion split with Interpublic Group’s The Martin Agency, Richmond, Va., in January after two years. Martin’s work was tagged, “Champion says yes.”
