Shell Oil has launched an estimated $20-25 million review for creative duties on its Quaker State brand and picked four shops to compete, sources said. They are WPP’s J. Walter Thompson, Detroit; Omnicom’s TBWA\ Chiat\Day, Playa del Rey, Calif.; independent Doner, Southfield, Mich.; and the incumbent, independent Tucker Hampel Stefanides & Partners, New York, said sources. Pitches are slated for mid-September, sources said. Roth Associates, New York, is handling.
