Social media has changed the way people learn and remember new products, as Facebook now ranks just behind television commercials as the most popular way consumers discover new products, according to the 13th annual Most Memorable New Product Launch survey.
Just 10 percent of consumers learned about a new product through Facebook in 2009. But this year, that number rose to 29 percent, and Facebook nabbed the second spot behind the ever-prevalent television commercial (68 percent). Both beat out in-store displays.
