NEW YORK Draftfcb New York has hired former Turf president Adam Levine in the new role of chief growth officer, the Interpublic Group shop said.

Levine was president of Turf here from October 2007 until November 2008, when he became a freelancer specializing in new business development. Before Turf, Levine was a brand director at Interpublic’s Deutsch in New York.

While at Deutsch, Levine worked on brands such as Snapple and Pfizer’s Zoloft. In his nine years there, he also contributed to new business pitches and helped develop the shop’s then fledgling interactive group.

At Draftfcb, Levine becomes the New York office’s third new business chief in two years, after Terry Martin, who left the agency in 2007, and Jeff Tarakajian, a group managing partner who added the role of director of business development in the fall.
