Americans haven’t been beating a path to dealerships to buy cars from not-yet-bankrupt U.S. automakers. But a Rasmussen Reports poll last month suggests they’d be especially wary of purchasing from a company that has gone into bankruptcy. Asked if they’d buy a vehicle from a company that was in bankruptcy, 20 percent said yes (24 percent of men, 17 percent of women), but 63 percent said no. The rest were unsure. A similar poll in December found 31 percent saying they’d be willing to buy from a bankrupt automaker.
