This is the summer when many Americans will see how glad their family and friends are to have them visit. In an AOL Travel/Zogby International survey, 57 percent of adults said they have less money to spend on vacations this summer and will look for ways to cut their travel costs. And 33 percent said they’re planning to stay with family or friends as a way of economizing.

One surprise: 69 percent said high gas prices won’t influence their choice of vacation destination this summer.
