NEW YORK Carmichael Lynch has poached Organic strategy chief James Kim to serve as its group director of digital strategy.

The position is newly created at the Interpublic Group shop. Kim, 40, will take charge of building the agency’s digital practice, including planning and strategy. He will report to Corey Johnson, Carmichael Lynch’s director of consumer engagement.

The move comes after Carmichael Lynch last November changed its media department into a consumer engagement operation to signal the rise of digital channels that are outside the bounds of a regular ad buy.
