LOS ANGELES The Directors Guild of America announced its nominations for outstanding directorial achievement in commercials here on Monday.
Nominees include five-time nominee Dante Ariola of MJZ, who won the prize last year for Sony PlayStation 3’s “Grenade” by Omnicom’s TBWA\Chiat\Day; Wrigley’s “Flare” from Omnicom’s Energy BBDO; and Nike’s “Addicted” by independent Wieden + Kennedy, Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
MJZ’s Fredrik Bond received his second nomination for directing spots for the California Milk Processing Board’s “Got milk?” campaign (“Straw”) by Omnicom’s Goodby, Silverstein & Partners; and JC Penney’s “Aviator” via Publicis Groupe’s Saatchi & Saatchi.
