NEW YORK Mike Tunnicliffe, global client and network development director at Initiative, has left the agency and his position has been eliminated, the Interpublic Group shop has confirmed.

Initiative created the post last February and appointed Tunnicliffe to fill it. His duties included oversight of global and multi-regional new business efforts. He had also served as the chief liaison with several major clients.

After reassessing the assignment late last year, Initiative decided those duties should be handled at the regional level “where [various executives] are closer to the clients, the regional offices and more in tune with the market,” an agency representative said.
