Has the vogue for gambling peaked among young males? A report from the Annenberg Public Policy Center of the University of Pennsylvania offers a mixed verdict. Among boys age 14-17, 6.6 percent reported playing cards for money on a weekly basis, down from 12.3 percent last year. Among men 18-22, though, the incidence of weekly card playing for cash rose, from 12.7 percent last year to 16.3 percent this year, “reflecting the continued popularity of card playing among youth in college.”
