NPR Moves Geoff Bennett to the White House Beat

A fourth White House reporter, for the first time

What do you do when there appears to be no end in sight to a news cycle perpetually dominated by the Trump administration? If you’re NPR, you add a fourth reporter to the White House beat, a first for the organization.

Geoff Bennett has been named White House reporter after serving as a congressional reporter at NPR since March 2017, in what is his second stint with the organization.

“Just a few months into his return to NPR, Geoff has demonstrated the substantive reach, solid sourcing, and fluidity in stories and two ways demanded daily on the beat,” said NPR senior Washington editor Beth Donovan in a statement.
