BOSTON Davis Advertising said it has hired former automotive executive David Tabasko to help the Worcester, Mass., shop drum up business in the car dealer category.

Tabasko will focus on dealership groups in Western Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York and New Jersey.

After spending 30 years at General Motors in various positions, Tobasko took an early retirement package and spent the last eight years working as a consultant for several Chevrolet Dealer Advertising Groups. He has also consulted for Honda and worked at JWT in account management on the Ford Tri-State Dealer Advertising Group.

“Dave brings considerable insider knowledge, enviable experience and an excellent personality to our group,” said agency president Andy Davis. “We couldn’t be happier to have him pounding the pavement in these exciting metropolitan markets. He knows those regions, and we’ve got the talent to back it up. It’s a winning combination.”

Tabasko’s title at Davis is account executive.

The independent agency claims $45 million in overall billings and works for several top dealer groups including Herb Chambers and Bernardi.
