Even in our age of rampant plastic surgery, we’re not at the point where people can choose their height. If we were, there’d be lots more tall people around. Moreover, as you can see from the chart’s summary of some Gallup polling data, women are quite as prone as men to wish they stood taller. Among men who are 5 feet 8 inches or less, 45 percent said they wish they were taller. For that matter, so did 19 percent of the men who are 6 feet or more.
