NEW YORK Having joined John Hancock Financial Services this spring as svp, brand management and corporate communications, Donna Driscoll is faced with the challenge of maintaining a well-known brand in the U.S. while also building business prospects presented by the company’s new Canadian owner.

Manulife Financial, with extensive operations in Canada and Asia, acquired Boston-based Hancock in 2004. Based in Toronto, Manulife is strong in annuities and retirement planning; Hancock’s core strengths have been life insurance, long-term care and mutual funds.
