LOS ANGELES Neal Tiles left DirecTV last Friday, vacating the evp of marketing position, a representative of the company said today.

The company described his departure as voluntary. Tiles was unavailable for comment.

Omnicom Group’s BBDO in New York was assigned the business without a review in February 2003, when DirecTV, based in El Segundo, Calif., consolidated creative, direct marketing and media buying within Omnicom Group-owned shops.

The assignment was facilitated by a pre-existing working relationship between BBDO executive creative director Eric Silver and Tiles, when Silver was at independent Cliff Freeman and Partners working on Fox Sports while Tiles was running marketing there.
