IPG's FutureBrand Names Melancon President

NEW YORK David Melancon has joined Interpublic Group’s FutureBrand, a unit of McCann WorldGroup, as president, North America, a new position, the agency said.

Melancon was most recently at Satori, a brand development company he co-founded in 2003. His Satori clients included Starwood, Microsoft and Kaiser Permanente. Before that, he worked with strategy firm Kindred Keziah on such accounts as Coca-Cola, Bank of America and Diageo.

Melancon reports to FutureBrand chairman and CEO Jean-Louis Dumeu, who said in a statement, “David brings a comprehensive understanding of branding based on his experience across a broad range of industries, including packaged goods, financial services and technology, and has approached these industries from both corporate and consumer perspectives.
