ATLANTA Eisner Communications is scheduled to launch a new television spot Wednesday for the National Aquarium in Baltimore, the shop said.

The ad shows a small plastic scuba diver who is trying to reach the ocean and is stranded while trying to cross a busy road. A young girl walks by and asks why he is sad. After he explains that he cannot be a real scuba diver until he sees a fish, the girl carries him to the aquarium and shows him fish through the underwater windows. The spot ends with the tag, “Come to life. National Aquarium in Baltimore.”

The commercial will air in the mid-Atlantic region. It will be extended into print, outdoor and Internet messages within the next few weeks.

“While the spot is aimed at parents, parents will recognize the girl’s behavior and project onto it their own experiences,” said Craig Strydom, associate creative director at the independent Baltimore shop. “In its own tender way, this urban fairy tale is a universal story.”

Campaign spending is undisclosed.
