Euro RSCG’s Owen Dougherty outlasted three other bidders last Wednesday to claim a painted wooden statue of George Washington (shown here) at Sotheby’s auction of furniture, jewelry and mementos from the homes of John and Jackie Kennedy. Dougherty, a JFK aficionado, paid $7,196 (including Sotheby’s fee) for the 22-inch-high statue— “my piece of Camelot!”—and will display it in his New York City home “by my Kennedy shrine,” which includes photos taken by longtime JFK photographer Jacques Lowe and buttons celebrating the 1960 inauguration. … When the topic shifted to Flavor Flav and Brigitte Nielsen on Laura Ingraham’s radio show last Wednesday, a producer mentioned to Ingraham that the pair had been on The Big Idea With Donny Deutsch. “Donny Deutsch? The crowd sipped pink-infused vodka cocktails dubbed the “X-Rated.” The party was hosted by MDC chief Miles Nadal. … Mark Burnett, set to produce Martha Stewart’s new TV series, told the crowd at the Retail Advertising and Marketing Association conference in Chicago that he visits the home-style diva in prison every month. “She’s not whining, complaining or explaining,” he said. “She’s just doing her time.” He also wasn’t above trashing his reality-TV competitors. “You’re never going to see crap from me like The Littlest Groom or Who’s Your Daddy,” he said. “What retail group would want to advertise on a show that’s belilttling people and tearing their lives apart?”
