DALLAS Schlotzsky’s Deli will have a new owner and a new advertising agency when the sale of the bankrupt sandwich chain is completed Dec. 31, a company representative said.

Bobby Cox Companies, an Odessa, Texas, investment firm that owns a number of fast-food outlets and other restaurants, will put its CVA Advertising and Marketing agency to work on the account, the rep said.

Cox bought Schlotzsky’s Thursday in a bankruptcy court auction for $28.5 million. Bobby Cox told reporters he was surprised to emerge a winner because the sandwich franchise drew a number of bidders.
