Toyota hailed “good news for planet Earth” to relaunch its Prius gas-electric hybrid last year. Ford entered the market in August with its Escape, the first hybrid SUV. This week Honda unveils its largest hybrid push to date for the launch of its new Accord, the first hybrid V-6 in the U.S. Spending on the TV and radio campaign is estimated by sources at $20-25 million.

Created by independent RPA in Santa Monica, Calif., the cable-heavy push includes two commercials, the first focusing on the Accord exclusively, and a second, breaking next month, that stars the Accord but also touts all three cars in Honda’s hybrid line.
