DALLAS Tocquigny Advertising, Interactive + Marketing has promoted principal Valerie Hausladen to president. After two decades at the agency’s helm, former president Yvonne Tocquigny will remain chief executive officer, the shop said.

Responding to the Austin, Texas agency’s growth, Tocquigny transferred her title and responsibilities to Hausladen, who will expand her client service and operational duties, as well as increase her role in new business development, the shop said.

“Yvonne has over 24 years of experience on the creative side,” Hausladen said. “I on the other hand have a strong business background and am very structured and practical. Together we balance each other out and mesh very well.”

Accompanying Hausladen’s promotion, the shop is adopting a larger business scope as it takes on five new national accounts. In the last year, Tocquigny has picked up advertising duties for Seagate Technologies of Scotts Valley, Calif; Caterpillar in Peoria, Ill.; Constellation NewEnergy of Baltimore; Symbol Technologies in Holtsville, N.Y.; and NetSpend of Austin. All wins followed formal reviews, the agency said.

“We’ve always been strong on the tech side, but we want to be broader—we want to have a little more diversity of clients,” Hausladen said. “In addition, we want to leverage our knowledge and work more on the national stage.”

Prior to joining Tocquigny in 2001, Hausladen was marketing director of the public sector business at Austin-based Dell. Dell has been a client of the agency for 16 years.
