What color is your bathroom? Black and White.

How many emails do you receive a day, roughly? Maybe 200, a good deal of which have suggestions on getting low mortgage rates, buying Viagra online, and obtaining another diploma.

What’s your opinion of New York City? I’m still not completely sold on the whole thing.

What’s your favorite letter? Q.

What single person played the biggest role / had the biggest influence on your journalism career? Joe and Eileen Bailey, or my Mom

Have you ever downloaded a podcast? If so, which one? This American Life, All Songs Considered, Wait, Wait…Don’t Tell Me. I want to find a Carl Kasell impersonator and start charging for answering machine messages.

Who’s your all-time favorite American Idol candidate? The one who sang about being “Sorry for 2004.” I think each one of those kids should apologize for a year.

When’s the last time you volunteered? Where? A few weeks ago. At a ServiceCorp/UrbanAlliance event helping local high school seniors write their college essays. It was a lot of fun.

Who is your favorite active journalist? Matt Taibbi or Dana Milbank.

What did you have for breakfast? A granola bar.

What’s your favorite item of clothing? My red hoodie.

What one toiletry item could you not live without? Neutrogena SPF 30.

If you could have one superpower, which one would it be? The power to ripen fruit at will.
