  • An NBC release states that “NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams” was the “No. 1 network evening newscast, winning the week of October 9-13, 2006 in total viewers, homes, and among the key demographic adults 25-54.” The broadcast averaged 8.841 million total viewers, 10% more than ABC “World News”, and 21% more than CBS “Evening News”.

  • B&C reports that the FCC “has rejected a challenge to its 2004 consent decree with Viacom that settled a host of radio and TV indecency complaints and about a dozen proposed fines against Infinity radio stations.” The FCC said that it had no “substantial and material questions” about Viacom’s fitness as a licensee.
