LOS ANGELES On the heels of Daimler-
Chrysler’s announcement today that it will “cease further support for Mitsubishi Motors Corp.,” Mitsubishi Motors North America is expected to shift its $260 million media buying account from Interpublic Group’s Deutsch to Omnicom Group’s PHD and Pentacom Canada, which currently handles buying chores for Mitsubishi parent DaimlerChrysler, sources said.

The move is expected to involve Omnicom’s Davinci Selectwork, a communications channel specialist based in Dusseldorf, Germany.

Deutsch is expected to retain creative, media planning, interactive, online and direct marketing.
