RD Recap: Rachel Nichols Returns to ESPN; Jodi Rudoren Returns to New York

It’s a slow week in the world of media moves; must be that the post-Thanksgiving turkey hangover remains in effect, or perhaps that 2016 budgets are still coming into shape, creating a wait-and-see attitude. One big move is Rachel Nichols‘ return to ESPN, where she’ll head her own program and contribute to SportsCenter and other staples. She left the Worldwide Leader in 2013, lured to CNN by president Jeff Zucker. While at CNN, Nichols covered everything from the NBA and MLB to the Olympics and the Super Bowl, but her show, Unguarded, was cancelled in October. New York Times Jerusalem bureau chief Jodi Rudoren is heading back to New York. She will be deputy editor of the international desk… RH Reality Check, a site focused on reproductive and sexual health, adds six staffers, including Ally Boguhn as political and campaigns editor and Kanya D’Almeida as race and justice reporter. “It wasn’t so long ago that our staff was small enough to share a cab.
