Jon Goldberg, Porter Novelli’s new evp and head of the firm’s corporate-affairs practice in New York, majored in journalism at New York University, believing he’d pursue a career in it after graduation.
But the Brooklyn native, formerly evp and global director of the corporate-affairs and crisis-management practices at PR21, said he quickly decided there wasn’t enough money in scribbling for periodicals. And so, after getting an MBA from NYU, he pursued a career in public relations.
“Porter Novelli is an agency I’ve always respected and had a fascination with in terms of [its] clients, creativity and culture,” said Goldberg, who steers a practice that provides corporate positioning, reputation management and other services to companies such as PricewaterhouseCoopers, Hewlett-Packard and TXU Energy.
