Nation's Only Black Fulltime Editorial Cartoonist Is Losing His Job

Ron Rogers, believed to be the only African American working full-time at a daily newspaper as an editorial cartoonist, is losing his job, reports E&P.

Rogers is drawing his last cartoon for the South Bend Tribune today.

“I really can’t say anything bad about this. The Tribune has done well by me over the years,” Rogers told E&P. “I’m really proud of the work I’ve done…I wanted to be the first black editorial cartoonist on the country since I was 14.
