Jane interviewed some of the top media recruiters in New York to find out what they don't like to see in a resume...this is our third week looking at what she found out, with one week to go. Week 1 Jeff Lundwall, founding Partner of the Mercury Group, states: He has no interest in seeing an introduction, summary or objective. They are a waste of time and space and are out of context.Speaking of space, no resume should be longer than one page in Jeffâ€™s opinion. Use a cover letter to tell the narrative and let the resume be the timeline.Bullets rule, and each one must start with a strong action word. Every point should make the reader interested in more.Donâ€™t write anything that reads like a job description. Instead, focus on accomplishments and measurable results. Donâ€™t leave gaps in the resume. Account for any time youâ€™ve taken off, even if itâ€™s for caring for a sick relative or traveling to exotic locales.Donâ€™t forget your interests as they can help in surprising ways.
