Recruiting Outside The Box

The developer of Microsoft’s “Changing Face of Microsoft” recruitment site has won Best Employment Website of 2008 from the Web Marketing Association, ERE reports. Check out the site—it looks like an aggressive effort to change the perception that the company’s staffed by only nerdy white guys with pocket protectors. (Is that really still a dominant perception of Microsoft? Apparently so. News to us.) Also, the front page has tones of Harry Potter, as all the portraits move and blink.

Obviously this site wasn’t inexpensive, but changing the world’s perspective on a global brand isn’t going to come cheap.
