Zaha Hadid Joins the Valli & Valli Doorknob Design Family

Okay, now we have confirmed that Zaha Hadid is a machine. Fresh off her new shoe design launch, we received a tip that the famous starchitect-gone-designer-gone-artist has now become the latest addition to the Valli & Valli doorknob family with a piece of hardware of her own design called the ZH Duemilacinque (which means “doorknob” back on her home planet). With it, she joins the vaulted ranks of Jean Nouvel, Frank Gehry, Robert A.M. Stern, and countless other big names, officially making her a big shot, beyond, you know, already being a super big shot to begin with. Here’s the info on the new door handle:

The ZH Duemilacinque door lever captures the seamless beauty and architectural dynamism synonymous with the work of Zaha Hadid. Composed of cold Nikrall alloy, this distinctive piece of hardware is characterized by an angular downward crimp, a design that energizes both its form and the space surrounding it. The irregular form of the rose, specially designed to recall the grips unique shape, further elevates the visual impact of this piece. Designed expressly for the communal spaces and rooms of the floor created for the Puerta America Hotel in Madrid, Hadids collaboration with Valli & Valli is a stunning manifestation of her signature style and a valuable addition to the Fusital collection.

Elsewhere, we see that Zaha has also been making, smooth fluid sculptures to help launch the Venice Architecture Biennale and celebrate the 500th anniversary of Andrea Palladio. We wish we had as much energy as this woman has in her little finger. Geez.
