Apologies to you, dear UnBeige reader for taking a temporary leave of absence around the middle of last week. Just too much work to do and not enough time to get it done. But we're back now and save for this bad cold we have that ruined what was supposed to be a relaxing weekend, we're all back where we belong. So first up, from this writer, comes an interview with Ross Lovegrove over at CNN. And who doesn't like to kick off the week with a little Lovegrove? The man is a legend, his work is stellar and, heck, even his head looks futuristic! Per usual with the man, every question is met with an answer that seems like it was rehearsed for weeks, simply because human beings should be that intelligent or lyrical in their speech. Here's a bit of what Lovegrove thinks he is: What am I? I'm a designer, but of course that's a loose term these days. And often when I meet people and say I'm a designer, they say, "Oh, a fashion designer." Which is not a bad thing I suppose, a bit groovy. But I'm a designer and I work with industry, so I suppose I'm an industrial designer. It's not as grimy, not as deep and dark as that sounds, 'cause industry these days is very different. I'm also a humanist and I'm a sort of evolutionist in some ways, because what I do conforms to the concept of evolution, progress, adaptation within the field of making objects that we use everyday.
