Hachette Purchase Shuffles the Deck at Hearst

One wonders if the move was a bit jarring for lad-mag vet Kevin O’Malley, but at Hearst these days, simply knowing where you will land amidst staff reshuffling must be a comfort.

O’Malley this week was named senior vice president, publisher and chief revenue officer at Elle, the most high-profile of the newly acquired media brands in Hearst’s just-closed $921 million mega-deal with French media conglomerate Lagardère SCA. Acquisitions include all of Lagardère’s U.S. properties under the banner of Hachette Filipacchi Media, as well as international publishing rights to Elle and Elle Decor.
