Steve Jobs Steps Down as Apple CEO

Big news out of Silicon Valley. Steve Jobs announced today that he is resigning as chief executive officer of Apple. He will be succeeded as Tim Cook, previously the company’s chief operating officer.Jobs will remain at Apple as chairman of the board.

The Northern California native wrote in his resignation letter:

I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple’s CEO, I would be the first to let you know.
