ET Correspondent Not Surprised by Reports of Ted Williams LA Altercation

Filling in this morning as host on Dan Patrick’s nationally syndicated AM sports talk radio show, Entertainment Tonight correspondent (and former Patrick ESPN cubicle mate) Kevin Frazier (pictured) was in a unique position to comment on a report in the LA Times of an altercation last night at the Hollywood Renaissance Hotel involving golden-voiced wonder Ted Williams.

Frazier spent Saturday tagging along with Williams around LA for an ET report. He told radio listeners that it was almost inevitable something like the reported hotel argument between Williams and one of his daughters would happen.

Frazier is not the first local LA media personality to sound the alarm of how a sudden influx of money, fame and opportunity might affect the formerly homeless Williams. Last week, KFI-AM’s Tim Conway Jr. shared his own pessimistic prediction.

Frazier’s weekend LA itinerary with Williams encompassed a taping of Dr. Phil, who also expressed his concerns. “This is a dangerous time for Ted, in my opinion” McGraw said. The Dr. Phil show, which reunites Williams with estranged family members, airs in two parts today and tomorrow.

Updates – 01/12/01: All media-interview activities for Williams have been canceled by Battle Plan Productions, to allow their client some time to “decompress, rest and get the professional help that he needs.”

Williams has taped an additional, Thursday January 13th segment for Dr. Phil, during which he explains his decision to follow the doc’s advice and check himself into rehab treatment for drug and alcohol addiction.
