80's Heartthrob Andrew McCarthy is an Award-Winning Journalist
The former brat packer has reincarnated as a travel journalist. Best known for his work in classic teen films like Pretty In Pink and St. Elmo’s Fire, McCarthy isn’t seen much on the big screen these days. But his byline has appeared in numerous publications, including Slate, National Geographic Traveler, The Atlantic, and the Best American Travel Writing anthologies.
Last week he was named the 2010 Travel Journalist of the Year in the Lowell Thomas Travel Journalism Competition.
