La Opinion and KPCC To Tagteam On Boxer/Fiorina Debate

KPCC's Patt Morrison and La Opinion Metro Editor Gabriel Lerner will co-host a debate between US Senator Barbara Boxer and her opponent Carly Fiorina on Morrison's show later this September. The debate is scheduled to last an hour. Boxer and Fiorina are, miraculously, in a dead heat in the polls--so this debate could be a pivotal moment in both their campaigns. Press release after the jump: Los Angeles, CA (September 9, 2010) -- La Opinion, the leading Spanish-language newspaper in the US, and 89.3 KPCC (Southern California Public Radio) will co-host a debate between incumbent US Senator Barbara Boxer (Democrat) and her Republican challenger Carly Fiorina on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 from 1:00 -- 2:00 PM, as part of KPCC's daily Patt Morrison program. The Boxer/Fiorina debate comes as polls show a tight race. La Opinion and KPCC are proud to bring this debate to California voters, giving them an opportunity to explore the candidates' views on a wide range of topics, including the economy, immigration, and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. The sixty-minute debate will originate at the KPCC studios in Pasadena, and will be moderated by KPCC's Patt Morrison and La Opinion's Metro Editor, Gabriel Lerner. The debate will be broadcast live on 89.3 KPCC as well as on other public radio stations around the state.
